As a high volume cataract surgeon, my focus is on patient experience and ensuring outstanding results by utilizing these technologies and creating a customized surgical approach tor every patient. Biography
Dr. Witherell grew up in Wilmington, DE and attended Archmere Academy before completing his higher education in Philadelphia. He earned a degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania prior to attending Jefferson Medical College, were he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Witherell then completed his ophthalmic residency training at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in 1998, where he continues to guide residents in their surgical training.
Dr. Witherell is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is recognized as a “Top Doc” by both “Main Line Today” and “Philadelphia Magazine”. He performs approximately 800 cataract surgeries per year.
As a Glen Mills resident, he spends as much time as possible with his wife and 3 beautiful daughters, two of whom are now in college. He holds a 4th degree black belt in kung fu, plays soccer every week, and is accomplished on both the piano and flute.
